Armchair is a firm of strategists, designers and programmers who create meaningful interactions between brands and audiences.

The core partners met in 1995 at CNN, where they became the founding fathers of CNN.com. Thirteen years later, they’re the core of Armchair:

Scott Woelfel - President & CEO
Scott is an innovator in the interactive media industry. His work, which began in 1991, has shaped how audiences receive and interact with information online. Prior to Armchair, Scott co-founded and built the business of CNN.com, a website that changed the way people consume information.

Kenny Ferguson - Partner & Senior Strategist
Kenny has directed online interactive campaigns for top brands such as; InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Georgia-Pacific, The Coca-Cola Company and T. Rowe Price. His extensive knowledge of user behavior helps brands live within the organic flow of the internet. This leads to positive brand experiences resulting in awareness, demand and conversions.

Stefán Kjartansson - Partner & Creative Director
A native of Iceland, Stefán got his BA in graphic design from Listaháskóli Íslands in 1993. Before his tenure at CNN.com, he cut his teeth at some of Reykjavík’s best advertising agencies. Stefán’s approach brings the soul of advertising and graphic design to new mediums that have won Armchair nearly every major design award and recognition in the interactive industry.

Dave Rickett - Partner & Chief Strategist
Dave is a tactical genius in interactive content development and user interface. His core strength is an innate ability to solve a company’s content development and presentation strategies. Dave has lead projects for clients like ING, CBS, Hearst, Turner Broadcasting, and Cingular.

Where We Come From
Armchair Media is a privately held partnership that was established in August 2001 by a team that has worked together as a creative force since 1995. Over more than a decade we have pioneered various interactive businesses and concepts, winning numerous awards and being cited for outstanding usability and design. Our work adheres to the highest quality standards in design, functionality and compatibility, honed by years of building mission-critical interactive services for mass audiences across multiple platforms.

Leveraging that experience to form our own company, our focus has remained on media companies, and others that could learn a lesson from media companies, specifically, how to improve the relationship between a content provider and its audience. Top companies such as CBS, Hearst-Argyle, The Weather Channel, and of course Turner Broadcasting, have turned to Armchair Media to help devise and implement new plans and products to reach new and bigger audiences. Our work also has spread to consumer brands such as Coca-Cola, Georgia Pacific and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, where our skill engaging consumers with content and functionality also holds great value and delivers significant rewards.
