Adult Swim 9 Campaign
[adult swim] is an unorthodox cable television network bundled with Turner's Cartoon Network. It needed a microsite to accompany a campaign to inform advertisers about its new extended broadcast hours, poised to start at 9:00 p.m.
The campaign parodied a lo-fi religious cult aesthetic with the idea to seduce advertisers into the Cult of the 9.
The website combined hypnotic visuals of [adult swim]’s subliminal messaging to create a Website for the Cult of the 9. The result was a deliberately amateurish webpage that mimicked the cult look and feel with comic effect. Accompanying banner ads were implemented on sites like New York Magazine.
